For the past year or so I have been trying to become Mayor of Foursquare for the Keller Williams Real Estate office in Blue Bell, PA. Unfortunately the person I was competing against for the top spot happens to be my fiancé. It became an interesting debate in our house with me even trying to convince her to take a vacation so I would have the chance to oust her. In a desperate seek to become mayor of anything I created a location of “Lee Stiber’s Real Estate Office” which is actually my home office.
About a month ago, I noticed that I was only a few days away from ousting the current mayor. There must be something wrong with Foursquare as it went from 3 days away to 7 days away in the matter of one day. I know…it makes no sense. While I originally thought becoming Mayor would have been good for business, for clients to see as well as SEO it became more of a mission and a competition in our household. Finally, this past week I checked into Keller Williams Blue Bell and was informed that I had ousted the Mayor and overtaken the throne. Of course twitter feeds to Facebook were down that day and I could not publish my new success. Of course this was not the most ideal situation and maybe now I can stop bothering all of my twitter and Facebook friends, at least until something else becomes a competition. Now it’s time to become the Mayor of my own house!
