Abington approves 25 mph speed limit for all residential areas
The Abington Board of Commissioners has voted to establish a speed limit of 25 mph within all residentially zoned districts in Abington Township. Although state law already sets a speed limit of 25 mph in residential areas, having the ordinance on the books in the township will help to avoid a “pollution of speed limit signs” in residential areas. Speed limit signs will still be applicable in places where the commissioners and residents feel they are in the best interest of the public.
